As I sit here at my computer in my home office, I can't believe that my 2010 May road trip is over already. I am still too wired to sleep, so I am finishing uploading my Haubstadt pictures from last night.

From the IndyCars at the Speedway, to the high banks at the Burg. The excitement of Kokomo to the insanity of the Little 500. The disappointment at Terre Haute, ending up being worth it for the racing. The low point was, of course our loss of a great competitor and friend to fan and racer alike Jesse Hockett. It did add a perspective to what we do. The high point was seeing the respect from all racing venues that Jesse garnered. From moments of silence to missing man formations on parade laps. I am almost surprised they didn't do one at the Speedway.

It was good seeing old friends, even if only for a fleeting moment, or just a wave. It was also good meeting new people that all share a passion for this sport that we love. I can't say enough about how I enjoy my visits to Indiana. Is it time for Sprint Week yet?

Thanks to everyone for all the help and hospitality. And thanks for confirming that it is about more than racing, but about passion and people.

The old adage, "time flies when you are having fun" seems to fit the month of May in Indiana extremely well. It is such a wonderful time of year and the racing calendar is chocked full of must see events. Mother nature cooperated pretty well this year and most came off without a hitch.

It's now on to midget week in June and five weeks from Friday is the Lawrenceburg opener for Indiana Sprint Week. Then we will be asking, "where did the summer go"? We have to savor each and every racing opportunity that is out there. The older we get, the quicker it seems to go.

I enjoy your work and hope that I might have the opportunity to meet you someday. Thanks for turning your passion into the quality we see before us daily.
