SPEIDEL WINS AT TWIN CITIES RACEWAY PARK

Muncie’s Nick Speidel snatched the victory away from Tate Martz on Saturday night when the Midwest TQ Racing League™ presented by Vincennes University competed at the Twin Cities Raceway Park in Vernon, Ind.

Martz and Jason Willis won the preliminary heat races earning the right to start on the front row of the 20-lap feature event. The duo waged a torrid battle once the green flag dropped swapping the lead back and forth officially six times in the first nine laps.

Martz took over the point on lap nine and seemed on his way to victory, when with the checkered flag in sight, his car popped out of gear. With Martz slowing Speidel seized the opportunity scoring his third MTQRL win. Following Speidel across the stripe were Tim Lynch, Rick Robinson, Chris Guinn and Brandon Gray. Martz was able to coast across the line for a sixth place finish. Rounding out the top ten were CJ Leary, Kevin Rice, Jason VanOsdol and Jamie Ross.

Martz received the Duane & Sonja Alexander Hard Luck Award, Rick Robinson passed seven cars in the feature to earn the Ward’s Apparel Hard Charger, CJ Leary was the Tony Stewart Racing Rookie of the Race, and Brandon Gray received the INOX Slick Move of the Race.
