The Midwest TQ Racing League™ presented by Vincennes University will be making their first appearance of the season at the Twin Cities Raceway Park in Vernon, Ind. on Saturday night May 22nd.
The pit gate opens at 3:00 pm, practice is at 6:00 pm and racing begins at 6:30 pm. Pit passes are $25 and general admission is $10. Other classes competing are the MMSA mini sprints, super stocks, mini stocks and hornets.
Last season the MTQRL three quarter midgets competed on the 3/8 mile oval twice with Jason Willis and Tate Martz both visiting victory lane. In June Willis used a last lap pass to steal the win from Martz while in September Martz led every lap taking the checkered flag ahead of Willis and Tim Lynch.
Lynch, the winner last Saturday at the Lawrenceburg Speedway, has made a habit out of top three feature finishes. In thirteen career races Lynch has finished in the top three an amazing ten times (2 wins, 3 seconds and 5 thirds).
Nick Speidel leads a tight battle in the season standings over Kenny Byrge, Martz, Lynch and Chris Guinn. Only two points separate Speidel and Byrge and only twelve points separate the top four drivers.
