what gear to run for the burg with a 410 motor with 486 rearend

what gear would you run for a 3/8 mile track like Lawrenceburg where running a 410 aluminum motor with a 486 rearend the person i got the motor from told me to run it around 7200 to 7400 rpms we ran sat with a 612 gear and the rpms where 7700 rpms this is our first year in sprints any help would be great

I would run anywhere from a 5:63 to a 5:97,now I've only run a midget at the track since it was redone and i'm basing this off of what gear we ran with the midget.It sticks in my mind that some friends of mine running a sprint car there told me that was the range they were in.If you ran there with a 6:13 and were turning 7700rpm,Iwould say if you went to either a 5:75 or a 5:83 that should put you in the RPM range you're looking for.

I was wrong on the gear we had in it ...it was a 6:07 gear

The difference in Rpm from a 6:13 to a 6:07 isn't much at all,so I'd still say to try either the 5:75 or the 5:83.
