Hello IOW friends,

Longtime supermodified veteran "Jungle" Jim Gresley from Michigan has passed away on 7 April 2010.

To my friend Jim Gresley: I am going to miss you my friend - RIP.

A notable Jim Gresley win was at Mobile Intl. Speedway, Alabama in 1966. He won the World 300 supermodified race before 10,000 fans. Seventy two supermodified entries were there that day.

Info source: Southern Supermodifieds and Other Early Racers by Gerald Hodges.

Have a good day...see you at the races

Rich, our racing community has lost a great veteran and you have lost a good friend. R. I. P. Jim!

Rich, there is an old belief that when we loose someone close to us there is a new birth to ease the pain. My newest grandson was born Wed. 4/7/10 at 8:00 P. M.. Actually I only learned of Jim's death earlier today from Marg Mackereth and my thoughts immediately turned to you my friend. Jim fought a tough battle, find comfort and peace that he is no longer suffering.

See you over the summer,

Patti

Patti,

I am going to miss ole' "Jungle" Jim Gresley very much. Not only was he a champion supermodified racer, he was a good friend indeed.

But, like you said a new birth is there to ease the pain. I would like to congratulate you on your grandson's birth on 7 April 2010. To you and your family, I am happy to hear the good news.

See you in Oswego, New York in July for the Oldtimers Reunion and some good ole' supermodified racing.

Have a good day...see you at the races
