I know there is already a thread started , but I am throwing in some photos and winger stuff.

Jacob Wilson and Sondi Eden ran a few laps in their wing cars. Unfortunately for Sondi after a bout 4 or 5 laps, it looked and smelled like she killed the motor. Jacob didn't look too bad at all.

As for the tintops, Hessert and Armstrong looked good. Dakoda ran second for a long time until getting stuck in the pits After he was done with a stop he got wedged in. Tom Hessert ran up front all day.

The 07 sprinter is Jacob, Sondi is in the other one. Dakoda is 22, Hessert is 77.

racephoto1,

Can you give us an update on the new short track they are building on the infield? How is it coming along? Thanks for any info.

Mud Packer,

It looks a lot like the Indy Speedrome. Banked slightly in the corners, and has a figure 8. The base gravel is down , but no blacktop yet. It doesn't reach the infield fence on either end. Owen also showed me how it can convert to a road course using both the infield track and the half. Great to see some oen using this much ambition in a tight economy.

This was my first time to Salem, and hearing those winged 410's was such a great sound.

I went to Salem Sunday and have gone to this track for 20 plus years. You can call me old fashioned. I think the changes suck! I have sit in that infield for years to which greats like Vogler etc. If you want to see Figure 8's go to the Figure 8 meca sportsdrome. Not that my opinion matters to anyone...but Salem will see less of my money.
