I posted this on the USAC forum but have not yet had a response, maybe my IOW buddies know the answer?

Hi all,
I am hoping someone could share with me ,or show me where is posted, the drivers points for the 2010 USAC National Midget Car Series (points breakdown).

ie: How many points are awarded for what finishing positions (eg: 1st:80points, 2nd:72points, 3rd:66 points ... etc)?
how far are the points paid down to?
are there points awarede for qualifiying?
are the owners points the same as the drivers points?
what happens if two drivers end a season on the same amount of points?
any other info along the same lines.

If this info is not at hand, could you please advise the correct person ask (& their contact details).

I had a look around the USAC website & couldnt find this anywhere!

I do know that the driver points and owner points are the same.. I believe the top 6 qualifiers get points fast time is 6..5..4..3.etc...And if 2 drivers tie in points the one with the most wins gets the edge... Do not hold me to this.. maybe someone knows all the details.

1. *These points are only awarded to entries finishing 5th or 6th in a Heat Race and transferring directly to the Main-Event.
2. Participants earning Heat Race points will not be eligible for Semi-Feature points.
3. Entries utilizing a “Provisional Starting Option” will earn Feature Race points but will forfeit semi feature points.
4. When applicable entries utilizing a “Race Organizer Option” will not earn Feature Race points, but will retain any points previously earned during the race meeting.

5.7 Selection of Champions & Ties - At the close of the racing season, the entrant and driver with the highest number of ranking points respectively shall be declared the divisional Champions. In the case of a tie in accumulated points for the champion’s position, the tie will be broken by a tally of first-place finishes. If still tied, a tally of second, third, etc. finishes will be utilized until the tie is broken. If a tie cannot be broken by the above tiebreakers, the champion will be the driver or entrant who amass their point total first. Ties for positions two through ten will be broken by awarding the position to the driver or entrant who amass their point total first. Ties will not be broken for positions eleven through the remaining participants.

Heat 8 7 6 5 4 3- 5th and 6th place points only if these are transfer positions for that event

B Main
4 3 2 1 every else gets 1 point that runs the B

Main
1at gets 60 and drops 3 points every position till 10th. Then drops 2 points every position to 20th. 20th on back get 13 points.

This is the points system for all USAC divisions but Silver Crown.
