6th Annual Bluegrass Bash Weekend set for February 26-27 at Windy Hollow, KY

OWENSBORO, KY (January 10, 2010)-After rain washed out the '09 edition of the Bluegrass Bash, officials have announced information regarding the 6th Annual Bluegrass Bash Homecoming Weekend.

The 'Bash' for UMP DIRTcar Modifieds will now become a two-day event at the Windy Hollow Speedway in Owensboro , Kentucky and be held on Friday/Saturday February 26-27, 2010.

On Friday Night February 26th, the 'Prelude to the Bash' will feature a $1,000 to win UMP DIRTcar Modified event as well as a $500 to win event for the Windy Hollow Limited Modified division. The UMP DIRTcar Modifieds will have a full show of Practice, Heat Races (pill draw for starting spots), B-Mains and the Feature event.

Then on Saturday Afternoon February 27th, the UMP DIRTcar Modifieds will take to the track racing for $3,000 to win / $200 to start in the 6th Annual Bluegrass Bash 'The Homecoming'. The Modified program will feature a full show of Practice, Single-lap Group Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains and the Feature event.

The Gates will open on Friday at 4:00 p.m. CST with Hot Laps slated for 6:00 p.m. CST. Adult General Admission will be $10.00 with children 12 and under admitted free. Pit Passes will be $30.00.

The Gates will open on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. CST with Hot Laps slated for 1:00 p.m. CST. Adult General Admission will be $10.00 with children 12 and under admitted free. Pit Passes will be $30.00 The Pre-entry is $80.00 for car and driver (Saturday only) and must be post-marked by February 21, 2010. The entry fee at the gate is $100.00 for car and driver (all entries not post-marked by February 21, 2010).

Former winners of the Bluegrass Bash include: Jimmy Owens, Paul Wilmoth Jr., Mike Harrison, Jeff Leka and Kevin Weaver.

The Ramada Inn of Owensboro will be the Official Hotel of the Bluegrass Bash 6 weekend Feb. 26Th and 27Th.

A special "Bluegrass Bash" rate is available by calling 270-685-3941 and reserving your room and mentioning the Bluegrass Bash.

The Ramada Inn is located just off the west end of the US 60 bypass at 3136 West 2ND Street is approx. 8 miles from Windy Hollow Speedway.

The Ramada in has just undergone a major renovation and features: Indoor Swimming Pool, Lounge and Breakfast bar.
