OK Guys- I run a WINGED 1200cc minisprint- finish well every week- same car 5 years- got the setup down pretty good- this is a 4 coil car. This year we get to run winged and NON winged. What are my basic setup changes to run non wing? Here is a bit more info- we race in dry Colorado on ALWAYS dry slick tracks- generally 1/4 and 1/3 mile tracks.. All I want to know is what to change and why? Thanks in advance....

well, not sure i can give you a specific set up, and have only ran a wing 1 time.. But, on a non wing car, your right rear takes the punishment on most cars.. so generally a little stiffer spring on the right rear, Kick the right rear out, always better to be loose than tight especially on a non wing car.. If you go haulin the mail into the turn, on a fresh track and that right rear is in, your liable to get on your lid.. I did, and thats how i learned.. lol.. really those two things, and some gearing changes.. i would assume you could gear the car with a little more gear since you will be getting off the throttle alot more.. Call your chassis maker and see what they say as well.. |
