I have been in discussions with Miami County Speedway and I have an idea for a OUTDOOR/INDOOR championship series of races that will crown a champion at the 2010 Rumble In Fort Wayne.
Miami County ( Peru, Indiana) and I have a verbal agreement, and another track is interested in talking about the idea. I am now POSITIVE that this will happen. I want to share the basic idea with everyone, and your opinions and comments are welcome. Here is the outline.
The series would lean heavily on the outdoor races for points. These races would be run by the host track promoters, with my only involvement is having points on their races. There is a remote chance I may have a dirt race outdoors at a track I rent. I know for sure that I will put points on races at Miami County. More will be added as we develop this idea.
I will start out obtaining sponsorship for a fund of AT LEAST $1,500, possibly more. Points that teams score will count towards contingency prices I will obtain.
There is a good possibility I will have a banquet after the champion is crowned in 2010 to award the prizes.
This is all designed to increase interest in DIRT 600 racing, and our Rumble Series combination.
I want teams to know about this series well in advance to prepare for it. I suggest teams enter this years Rumble in order to gear up for it. This is an idea that can grow if we all work together into something unique. I would like to invite everyone onboard to question and comment on this.
I plan on attending the Miami County Speedway banquet this weekend to talk to you about it more. Our entry information is on the
http://www.rumbleseries.com entry section.
