Sorry to be posting back again so soon. A cute story came out of the long wait on Friday before Andrew's surgery. I mentioned in the earlier post that the surgery was delayed due to an emergency with another patient. Andrew was in a great mood and he handled the delay and not being able to eat anything very well. They explained to him that Dr. G was delayed and he acted fine with that news. He played in the waiting area outside of the OR as they already had him dressed and ready to go before the delay. My daughter-in-law said that when the neurosurgeon came through the door to greet them, Andrew said "you slow poke Dr. G, let's go". She said the other doctors and nurses were laughing and I guess it just goes to show that kids are very resilient.
The old man (me) also forgot ![]() They are again asking for anyone who will be attending to donate a new children's book that will be donated to the Mott Childrens Hospital Giving Library. A little different rule this year, it has to be a new book as the hospital can no longer accept used books. They want to continue to give back to this wonderful program that has helped Andrew and so many children like him who have been hospitalized at the Mott. If you are interested in attending, PM me for directions to the party. We say thanks for standing by us and walking (some times running) with us through out this journey. We continue to Dream, Hope and Believe. Hope to see you at the races.
