I think russ gamester is by far one of the best race car drivers in the world. I think he should of got a contract to run indy cars he passed his test with flying colors, but does not have money like rich boys like A.J. Foyt son, B.P. He should get more offered to him then what he is getting. In my book he should be ranked up their with Stewart, Gordon, and J.J. yeley.

Im picking Russ to win ORP.

I will second this comment! Russ Gamster should have been in Indy Cars! Thanks for all your years
Russ! We should have front engine cars. Not rear engined cars. Guess I'm from the old school!
Best Regards,
John

I respect your opinion and agree. Russ is great and great driver When Namars and USAC ran midgets regularly in IND he was one always in contention along with Olsen along with Kenyon, Vogler, doty and a few others. Won the Championship and is totally competent. Thanks Russ always good to see you run

However there are others out there that have passed their rookie test and never got a ride. Matter of fact Id say 10-15 of the 40 running sprintweek DESERVE A SHOT, Would do well and possibly be a star. BK, East, Darland, Clauson and on and on just tremendous competitors and totally compitent drivers.

NOW go find a Budwiser or JW Hunt to give you 10 million to give to the teams and you at least got a ride............................. FOR INDIANAPOLIS ONLY. Add another 20 for the season.........

Sorry, Citgo and Chavez made 40 billion last quarter. MILK and DONUTS IT IS!!!!!!!!!!!

Saddly its rare that merit gets you anywhere anymore in the big leagues. Its been that way for sometime. Tony tried and it was possible to mortgage the house and run indy for a couple years. NOT NOW! Even Rahal and others have trouble doing it..

For those who plug away, We apreciate it. I hope some of you can make a living at Sprints and Midgets and for the rest I hope your at least enjoying it. Its what the sport should be about. Talent and class should be noticed.

Jon Stanbrough- Cary Faas- Cory Kruseman- Robbie Flock- Sleepy Tripp-Kevin Olson- Robbie Stanley-Dan
Boorse-Scott Hatton-Joe Corrigan- Tony Eliott. All of these should have been in Indy Cars. I could continue

Its the ones that continue to improve and impress you, Some within a year (Boat/Sweet/Whitt) Some over 20 years (Darland/Elliott,Faas) and keep their nose clean both on and off the track that deserve it.

I left dozens of names off, For that Im sorry I coudlnt' possibly list them all but the record books speek for themselves.

Watching DD drive the wheels off two nights in a row, HOW CAN ANYBODY NOT GO, WOW?????????? Even fellow racers telling me they could have probably raced with him a bit after they got passed but he was doing things in that car that flat out scared me. (LEFT REAR BOUNCING ALL OVER AT TERRE) and going like a bat out of hell!

Thats impressive to hear competitors compliment others. The tires were blistered to beat the band but he went from 14th to 3rd on a big half mile! Thats hauling! and he isn't the only one to do it!

To me thats every bit as impressive as the one who WON and thats not to take anything away from him. It might be him passing a dozen cars next race

Both Steele and Yeley have been in indy cars.. JJ ran 500, and steele crashed either just before or during quals.. Ran for Panther racing i believe.. But you 2 are right, to see some of these guys run an indy car would be a real treat..

JJ actually had some very impressive runs in an underfunded car. Plus 10th in the 500 after a spin on the first lap. Wish he would have got a better shot than he did.

Back to the subject, Russ Gamester. Any one remember how many laps that Russ had the lead during the richest Sprint Car race ever. The Mopar Million. Watch the video and I think you will agree he played with the lead, including the winner. A red flag and a bleeder that stuck shut in the RR cost him the Victory. The race started for him with a brand new car. Two laps of practice. Drew 117 out to qualify, 7th fast. Started heat race last and won it. Russ should have won it all. Great driver, great show. How could we forget.
