UMRA Rolls Into Anderson on Saturday Night


It has been said that good things often come in threes. Fortville, Indiana’s Terry Goff certainly hopes that this will be the case on Saturday night at the Anderson Speedway. The 13-time UMRA champion will be looking for his third victory of the season to go along with wins at Gas City on May 29 and last Saturday at the Mount Lawn Speedway in New Castle. He will also be going for his third straight triumph at the high-banked quarter-mile as the 105-time feature winner won both Anderson races in 2008.
There will be a lot of hungry drivers on the track Saturday night in Anderson. The winning driver will be rewarded by receiving a certificat e to the Dutch Mill Buffet in Millroy for his victory.
Fans will also want to pay attention at Anderson to the “race within a race” that is the G&G Oil “Hard Charger of the Race.” The driver that advances the most positions in the feature will receive five gallons of fuel courtesy of G&G Oil. At Rushville it was teammates Ron Combs and Wayne Harpring sharing the honors while at Mount Lawn Terry Goff got the fuel by virtue of coming from tenth to first in the feature.
The battle for the 2009 UMRA Championship is getting ready to hit a make or break stretch in which every point will be critical. Gates at Anderson will open at 4:00 pm on Saturday with practice at five, qualifying at 6:30, and racing set to begin at eight!
