Coondog wins Western World Championship from 24th. Darland 2nd, Bud 3rd. Might be one of the greatest drives I've ever seen, BIG CONGRATS !!! Thank you Race Network, 20 bucks well spent.:hoffman:

I've been watching open wheel racing since 1960 and I agree. None of us in the area in which I was sitting could believe that USAC sent Coons to the back of the pack for putting the car on the track too late. It seemed to us that the car had been there along with the rest of them. However, all this did was set up one of the best, most satisfying drives I have ever seen. What a show! I think all of us came to our feet at the same time when he took the lead. Look at who he passed to win (some of them twice due to yellow flags setting him back right after he had passed someone. It would have been worth the price of admission just seeing the battle up front between Darland and Stenhouse.

Nights like this are why we all love nonwing sprint car racing.

I completely concur with Frank's remarks. This was one of the greatest sprint car races we have ever witnessed.

The crowd was completely disgusted with USAC when they made what seemed to be a "Bone-Head" call sending Jerry to the rear for being late in bringing his car to the track. This call was ridiculous as Jerry Coons pushed his own sprint car to the track with his ATV prior to driver introductions. We even commented while the cars were being lined-up on the front stretch how neat it was to see Jerry pushing his own car with a quad. In no way did the Hoffman's or Jerry Coons delay the show. The flagman and USAC spotters should have been the individuals penalized for the numerous LATE YELLOW flags. I am surprised USAC did not get Tony Jones killed when he lost power just past the flag stand and coasted all the way to the back stretch, waving his arm, before the yellow flag was ever displayed.

Congratulations to Jerry Coons and Hoffman Racing for one of the most exciting sprint car race ever!!!! Bob, Sandra and Marissa Farris :respect::respect::respect:

A simply incredible drive. Sprint car races are not supposed to be won from 24th. To have passed everyone in such a great field was an astounding accomplishment. I've been going to races since 1952 and I can count on one hand the drives I have seen as good as that. Congrats to Jerry Coons Jr. and the Hoffman team for a night we will never forget.:applaud::thumb::checkered:

Jerry Coons Jr. is the best in the business right now. :checkered: He certainly does not get credit for all his talents regarding opportunities to make huge money in the IRL or NapCar.

If this win in the sprints for Jerry can carry-over into next year everybody better watch out. He has already proven himself to win in a midget at any track he runs.
