So just an opinion question, do you think that USAC would benefit from running more Silver Crown races. Lets say go back to Syracuse, Maybe Cal-Expo, Second races at the other dirt miles, Get the Sumar back on the schedual, the grove like back in the day on the dirt side... then say toledo a second at orp, maybe gateway... get to about 15 or 16 races make it worth while for the expense for the owners, and well im not gonna lie, my favorite racing in the world is the silver crown cars on the dirt miles

my favorite form of racing too...

And I also think a bigger schedule would certainly help...

Syracuse, Terre Haute, OKC,...

But my biggest mystery is the promotion. I know that Bob Sargent does an incredible job. He and his crew have come to help at Indy, right?

But why does DuQuoin still only pay 9k something to the winner? That's been the purse for many, many years. Those stands down there on Labor Day weekend are practically packed?

Is is track rental, insurance costs, what?

I voiced my opinion when Oswego was added to the schedule, I can't wait for the Oswego race but, also feel they need to give the Central N. Y. fans a dirt race back at Syracuse. Having both the pavement and dirt cars run within 50 miles of each other would help build a stronger fan base in Central N. Y..

I also feel more races and higher purses are what is needed to bring the Silver Crown Division back to the forefront of USAC racing.

Lastly I strongly feel we need to get a race track built in the Phoenix area to get not only Silver Crown cars back on the dirt in Phoenix but also the Sprints and Midgets.

Yes they need to increase the number of races. It makes no since at all to invest the money in a SC car for the number of races they run. In my opinion they need to run 8-10 races on pavement and 7-9 races on dirt the reason I would run more on pavement is only because of the cost of building a pavement car is more expensive and you would need to run more to justify the extra cost.

It really doesn't matter if the tracks do not they can make money off the show, they won't schedule it.

The more races you run, the more money you spend. I think they should go to ALL dirt! Nothing better than the Silver Crown cars on the fairgrounds tracks!

I agree with your thoughts and concept. Champ Cars are at the top of my list , too. But I also agree with Mr. Funk, in that the promoters/track owners have to make a buck or they won't even look at it.
I thought Kevin Miller was this marketing guru and that was the expertise he was bringing to USAC to help revive it. Obviously the Champ Cars, and USAC racing in general, are going to have to have a sponsorship package of some relevance if they are going to bring their shows to an "event status" as the propose.

Tracy Hines wins $1650 for the A-Main win at Knoxville Friday night? Gimme a break.

I agree with The mile tracks, I live in the Syracuse area and unfortunatly the last time the crown cars were there it was on saturday of super dirt week. The crowd was poor to say the least. Sad to say that there doesn't seem to be any fan Intrest. The powers that be there could care less. I have seen them run growing up and it was always a high point. Lets hope Oswego will bring in the cars and fans.
