Stopped past the track Weds. and noticed there is no equipment on the grounds and looked like no dirt had been moved. Was wondering, will this tranformation even take place? Or maybe they were waiting to see if Mayor Cunningham would be re-elected before things get rolling, since he is apparently the one who is backing the racing from the City.Just thought that if this is going to happen it better start soon or maybe the season will be delayed in 08.

This is just a guess but I believe the contractor chosen for the 'Burg renovation is the same folks who are presently working to dredge and reroute Wilson Creek on the east end of Aurora. That work can be viewed from the Wal-Mart access road. Might be that equipment and workers are tied up there. Then again, it may not be at all related. In any event, they have lost a lot of unseasonably good weather since the last lap of Fun Fest was :checkered:.

I talked with city officials this week and they just had finished up a meeting with the contractors and they are going to begin demolition on monday. They also added some more things to the new track, such as, more lighting on the backstretch and t.v. camera platforms around the track and many many more great improvements. I was also concearned about the delays, but the company doing the work is a very large company and have the manpower and equiptment to knock this job out in a timely fashion.
Thanks, Dave Rudisell

I cant wait for the change, dont get me wrong I love the 1/4 mile but that is all Indiana has for sprintcars that run on a weekly basis. From a drivers perspective it gets boring running a 1/4 mile all the time. I'm glad there changing it to a 3/8's.:checkered:

I cant wait for the work to start. I love the track an the history it has. The track has also been its own enemy. Over the years we saw alot of good racing an also started seeing alot more equipment tore up. I like to see a good wreck as long as noone is hurt. The last few years we have seen more carnage then I can recall. I do believe it will make for some awesome racing. As long as we dont have paper clip corners. As Dave said before with all the cities closings tracks because of noise an stuff. Just be glad there is one willing to put the money into a track.I know I am. Dave I just wanted to say thanks for the Lucas race in August as well gonna enjoy watching that show as well.

Dave
And are the pits to stretch back farther an wider? An where is the Rv park to go exactly?

Im honestly excited. I've seen some great races at the old track but it became increasingly rarer and rarer. It was one of the better WANG tracks in that configuration but it was often either too fast or two slow (Huggy) None daves fault.

I hope dave will consider looking into adding wood chips to the clay and maybe contacting the city about it. It seems that it helps hold moisture longer and also keeps the track from rolling when it's too heavy. More of a shredding (I've seen the track like that without em but if they miss. It's not pretty.)

Chuck, no bi&&ch here. just comments
