In sort of a prelude to Sprint and/or Midget Week, we took the motorhome on a trip to THAT, Bloomington, Lawrenceburg (our first time since the re-do), and Kokomo. Original plans had Tri-State on Sunday night, but based on some sage weather advice from Mowerman (thanks) we diverted to Kokomo because of the forecast.
Racin' was good from 2d on back at THAT, B'town, and L'burg but great throughout the pack at Kokomo and especially up front. The race between JRS and Whitt and later joined by Faas was reminiscent of the Stanbrough/Clayton duels. Also great charges by Windom & Puterbaugh Jr. In somewhat of a surprise, the Vigo County(Terre Haute) Fair Board (not the track promoters) has decided to gouge RVs/tenters by charging $10 just to park or put up a tent in the free parking areas. No hookups...just parking on grass where you can park a car the size of a tent, or a truck the size of an RV for nothing. Also, I understand their Sprint Week date is during the Vigo County Fair so not a good prospect for the usual RV caravan. Fortunately, the situation at L'burg has not yet changed. No charge for parking, electric (15/20 amp), and water. Our first view of the new L'burg . Outstanding!! Reminds me of going into a NASCAR track only on a smaller scale. First class facility. All in all a good weekend racin' trip.

I will second this. We got to add two new tracks to the list in the Indy Mile and IRP and attended the Indy 500. This was my 19th consecutive year at the speedway during the month of May (not too bad for being the age of 18 eh?) The only down side of the weekend was that Haubstadt got rained on forcing them to call it off. All together it ended up a good weekend of racing.
