Today was a very important day for little Andrew. They did another MRI today to check the tumor and see how the treatment was progressing. The oncologist had said prior to this that if the tumor were slightly larger that they would consider this a success. The results are in and the tumor is SLIGHTLY SMALLER!!!! Wonderful news for sure and it shows that the treatment option that they have chosen is working. Parts of the tumor have lost density and are necrotic, meaning additional cells in the tumor are dying off. Additional testing showed there was no evidence of new growth in the brain or the spine.

He is still having some minor aspirations though it is still unclear of the cause. He will be having a chest CT tomorrow and then they will be releasing him to go home. He has been in a great mood today after the MRI and he has been talking and laughing while being his normal playful self. He showed no side effects from the earlier blood transfusion and has also showed a weight gain. All very good signs.

The schedule will now shift to Indiana and the Midwest Proton Radiotherapy Clinic for a 6 week treatment there. During this time period he will also receive his chemo treatments at St. Vincent's in Indianapolis.

I again thank you all so very much for your continued prayers and well wishes. We realize that the road is still very long and will have some more bumps along the way. I appreciate your continued interest in the journey of a little boy named Andrew. Your prayers are really working. We certainly feel blessed this evening.

Will do! When I hold him all I want to do is hug him. I think at times he really enjoys all of the extra attention he is getting. I know he has the old man here wrapped around his little finger.
