Stanbrough at VCS Saturday

With an opening night pit area full of race cars (103) and a loaded grandstand up next this week at VCS, is non-wing Sprint car legend Jon Stanbrough racing in the Turbines, Inc. Sprints Car Division. He will also host an autograph session by the grandstands this Saturday night April 25th.

Stanbrough will be competing in the famed Fox Brothers #53. Jon Stanbrough is a future Hall of Famer for his accomplishments in a non-wing Sprint Car. He’s a three time HARF Driver of the Year and 2006/2007 National Non-Wing 410 Dirt Driver of the Year.

Stanbrough has amassed over 100 sprint car wins. He was the 2006 USAC Sprint Week Champion. He’s a three time KISS Champion, a four time Bob Darland Memorial Winner, a four time Robbie Stanley Memorial Winner and a two Time Tony Hulman Classic Winner at the Terre Haute Action Track.

Also on the racing card will be the Toyota of Danville Modifieds, the Wright Motor Company Late Models, and the Auto Connection Street Stocks. The Route One Auto Repair Pure Stocks will once again be at the mercy of the coin toss to determine which direction around the track they will race.

Gates open at 5:00 PM with the racing action beginning at 7:00 PM. Adult admission is $10 and kids 10 and under are free. In the keeping with the speedway’s value based effort, a special $2 discount is being offered to citizens of Champaign/ Urbana, Illinois with a state issued ID. Family pricing and seating, with great food moderately priced and great racing on the lightning fast ¼ mile dirt.
