Just noticed Bret Mellenbrendt listed in the results. That guy has run everywhere this year. Anybody know if he runs his own operation or is he driving for multiple teams.

Bret is racing on a family owned team based out of Sioux Falls, SD. He is a guy that has an amazing amount of talent, a huge amount of determination and an outstanding passion for racing sprint cars. What amazes me is the simple fact of the lack of funding he is able to operate on. It really makes me wonder what he would be able to do if he was properly funded and had the right amount of people helping him. Thats the other thing about Bret is that he basically doesn't have any help. He might have a a guy who would come to the show to help with the little things, but that is it. All the weekly maintenance and the simple fact of driving to the race venues, is all done by Bret. I have raced on my own, and I know it is very hard to be 100% in everything. (driving and wrenching)..
Mellenberndt will be running in Vegas this weekend then Perris, CA, the next and then back to Manzanita.. I know Bret also raced in the Indiana and Ohio areas this summer. I beleive he won a feature event out in ohio sometime this summer... I would like to thank Kevin for posting the results for the show out in Tuscon. |
