It appears that the USAC Indiana Ford Focus Series has been absorbed into a single series , being the USAC Midwest Ford Focus Series of your inquiry. This should be a positive ! The Midwest Series will gain considerably in race dates , up to 29 from the 2008 schedule of only 16. Likewise , there should be a consolidation of cars resulting in a net gain , you would think. The information that I'm getting is that 5 to 6 cars from the '08 entry group have been sold ; a couple or more return with new owners/drivers ; the economy will see a few parked ; and there is a crossover gain from the Indiana group as expected ; this all shakes out to about 20 cars , same as last year. Problem is , like most series , it is seldom that they all come out to play at the same time. Last season's race at Kil Kare in Xenia only had 9 show up.

Paul,
I sure hope you are right, Tyler and I are guessing maybe 10 cars on Pavment and about 1/2 that on the dirt races. Maybe at ILLiana and Grundy we could get into the higher numbers but Anderson, Mt Lawn and Plymouth I would imagine will be much lower, but we will find out in a couple weeks at Columbus. I think with the new age rules it should really help the series and then with columbus being tied in with a big 0.25 show it will give much needed exposure to future teams

I spoke with an Indiana Focus operator last week. He is a bit more optimistic about dirt than Eric..... He thinks 8 or 9 for Gas City. :help:

About 8 or 9 for dirt and at Gas City. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Seems Eric and Steve were just off the mark as there were 7 at Gas City tonight ! I'll not make any more predictions for Ford Focus as I'm always overly optimistic ! ![]() :Steer < " Wishing Tyler Cottongim a fantastic '09 season ! " |

That first time on dirt is always memorable. After over 700 dirt starts in late models , I still remember that very first outing ! I would be interested in hearing Tyler's impressions on playing in the dirt ! Again , Congratulations to both driver and car owner ! :Steer :applaud: |

I would like to thank everyone who came out and supported the Gas City Midwest Ford Focus race last night.
It was a great race and great exposure for the series. The stands were certainly packed! As we continue to grow the Focus series and control cost, dirt races will be a prominent part of it. I would like to commend all the drivers on a great race. I heard nothing but good things from the event and saw a lot of smiles on the drivers faces after the event. We look forward to returning to Gas City with the Focus Cars, June 26. If anyone would like more info on how to get involved with the series feel free to give me a ring. I thought for the amout of cars that is was a good feature race. The 2 running up front put on a really good show. This series is definatly a good stepping stone up to Midgets, Especially when the only thing they need to change to step up is the drivetrain. I enjoyed wathcing them run. I bet they would be really fun to watch on a track like US 24 speedway
