Lloyd, I would recomendyou call Roberts Dist. Talk to Phil or Chuck, They know all about each camera. It also depends on how much you want to spend and what you will be shooting. Roberts Downtown number 317-636-5544.

Lloyd, I purchased a Nikon D40 last year and love it. Easy to use and takes great shots. The D60 is even nicer so I doubt you could go wrong with it.

If you are looking at a Nikon d60, spend a few extra bucks and get the d80 or 90. It has a focus motor built into the camera body so you arent so limited in lenses you have to use. Other than that I have a d40 and quite happy exept for the the above mentioned.

Quoted for truth. Older lenses are much cheaper, but won't work on some of the newer cameras.

As far as ordering on line I would use B and H photo anyday. There are so many scams out there its hard to know who is legit and who is not. I recently ordered a lens from B and H after about a week of checking them out closely. They were very easy to deal with and the lens showed up a day early (4 days instead of 5)

I want to point out that if you do choose the d40 as he says is the best dslr.....you can't use older lenses on it, which are cheaper.

Call Roberts, its close to home. Also remeber Lloyd, the lens goes towards the track.
