LPS would be the only track I can think of that we would have to pay to get 6 year old Sam into. The facility is going down hill and the admission prices are going up. There are many other facilities that are higher quality with lower prices. We are looking forward to going back to VCS this summer to see the sprint cars.

Carry in needs to be allowed, maybe not beer...but water and other snacks. Not everyone wants to eat heart attack track food. Its good dont get me wrong, just not good for you at all!

Haubstadts prices vary as they do not classify as a weekly track, but having said that, kids under 12 are always free, always can bring in your own adult beverages and food, free parking and camping, always out at a decent hour, and the best racing action east of the mississippi.

I forgot to add, none of this silly azz three and four classes for pit gate dollars. Tri-State runs two quality classes only and it works very well thank you. |

I have always wondered why only 12 & under are free at racetracks. Why is the cutoff at 12 years old? Since 13-15 year olds don't have jobs, where are they getting their money from? From their parents? The 13-15 age group is quite possibly the most influential group of potential future lifetime fans and they begin to drift away because their parents try to find other things that are more affordable.
I know when I was going to races, I was a big fan at age 11 and 12 already. Since I got in for free, my dad and I hit nearly 50 events during each of those years. At ages 13-15, we went to about half that amount. When I got my first job at age 16, I finally had money and we were finally able to go to more races again. Can anyone explain this situation to me? Also, I don't like that tracks won't let you bring a cooler into the track. You could be chinsy and only allow a six pack cooler. That's actually fine. Just allow a small cooler and bottles of water. I have found that myself (and many others) are more willing to purchase concessions if they can bring a cooler in. If I can't bring a drink in, I am not going to buy a cheeseburger. I don't have anything to wash it down with. And yes, I am a penny pincher. ![]()
