bobbyg45,
Was he related to Danny Bowlen? I remember him as a very competitive sprint driver, from the 70's Paragon, Bloomington, etc. scene.
RIP Steve,
Jerry

I've wondered whether this Steve Bowlen was Danny's brother myself.
Danny had a brother Steve who stooged for Danny when he drove other peoples cars and was the chief mechanic when Danny had his own operation.

If you read the obituary in the Bloomington paper it says his brother was John. Steve Bowlen was 59 years old. Yes he did drive a sprint car but not sure what number. This is all sad he was a good friend tous all. I don't know what number but he drove sprints from 79-81. You can go to luvracin.com under Paragon raceway in indiana and there is a pic etc of him under the street stocks #53.
