Heat races were ok. Nothing special. Pretty typical for other races I have seen from here. Don't really enjoy the primary announcer. I think Tony is going to fit right in to the pit reporter roll. They did a good job creating hype for the series. Glad to see a good turnout. Thorson looked good winning his heat race. Where is the world did Newton find speed? He went from being the guy lapped in a heat race to a solid 4th place transfer. Don't know anything about him, but he did put several good drivers in his car last year.

I would expect a good car count early in the year with this being the Florida swing. Everyone should have fresh equipment and fresh sponsorship money.
Let see who and how many are still around in August and September, in any of the series. Cool to see Newton running so well. |

Personally I could do without the playlist music. Just let the engines sing as they are spooling up for formation.
Good action on the track, though.

And the best part is that this series doesn't have spoilers littering the thread titles like the USAC threads.
Pet peeve.....

You are avoiding sprint car results and you go on a sprint car site??? That would be the FIRST thing I'd avoid...

The problem is the titles of the threads. For example, this was posted: Usac: Ocala usac sprint car results: Feb. 16, 2024 Less than five hours later, this was posted: Usac: 5 years to the day: Leary triumphs again at ocala That is where is gets ruined/spoiled. So with those posts, USAC in Florida is off my radar right now. I am not going to watch something I already know who won. But as this was discussed on here a while back, I am barking up the wrong tree. IOW is set up where the USAC posts automatically appear on the board. Now if there was a separate USAC folder/file, that would eliminate the spoilers. I just wish this portion of IOW could be amended. In short, I can watch High Limit, Lucas Oil Late Models, and the World Series of Asphalt modified shows from New Smyrna without spoilers. Plenty of racing this month. USAC, however, is off the table in this house. That is the price I have to pay with my race watching standards, I guess.
