Okay, on the road to Shadyhill! If you find yourself in the Medaryville area and you see bread crumbs, PLEASE DON’T EAT THEM. That’s our strategy to get home.

Well, the breadcrumb strategy worked! We made back to the interstate in the dark with no issues (other than crunching our trailer jack on one of those railroad grade crossings...) It was another fun night of racing at a different track than we normally run. Very different racing surface and track configuration. I know there's always a lot of noise made about the dust, but once the feature got going, I think it was okay. First couple of laps were harrowing starting in the back from a visibility standpoint, but we avoided "the big one".

The storybook finish to the points chase in Badger Midgets unfolded as points leader Kyle Stark got knocked out early in the feature, opening the door for Zach Boden who did exactly what he had to do to close what was a sizable margin coming into the night and take the 2022 points title by a mere 8 points. THAT'S WHY YOU RACE THEM ALL! It was a shame for Kyle to lose the title watching from the infield, but when you look back a couple of weeks and see what happened to Zach at Wilmot (taken out while leading), the point chase could have been even tighter coming in to Shadyhill. It was a curious experiment to have some of the Midwest Thunder guys come out and join in the fun. I think we need to work more on the rules equivalency formula and try to find more opportunities to compete against each other. This could prove to be a good way to grow both series. Congrats to Carl Peterson IV for having another good Shadyhill/Badger feature finish!

The folks at Shadyhill were great to work with, very easy going. Love that pit area and the downhill push off onto the track. (I do wish they would look at the track exit transition in turn 3, it's still pretty aggressive.) I know we would be happy to make the 4 hour haul over again next year.
