So it's no big secret Gas City has had it's ups and downs this year. Agree or disagree, it is what it is. Not here to talk about the negativity or the past. One problem they have been having is their website, which was stated to not be their fault. This morning on their Facebook page, which is made "public" they updated their Sprint Car Season Points Championship Standings, which does show some effort is being made in some places.
Going into the "Final Points Race and Season Championship Race" on September 2nd, my guy, Stomp and Steer Scotty Weir is leading the field at 279 points. In 2nd is young buck Colton Cottle in The Legendary Paul Hazen #57, with 254 points. If my math is correct and points are distributed the way it says they are, Colton needs to make the Feature and finish at least 15th or higher to catch Scotty. If Scotty makes the Feature and finishes 23rd or higher, the Season Championship and Track Championship goes to The Defending Track Champion, Scotty Weir!!!! Now what makes this even more special in a way, is last year Scotty and the 4P broke at Smackdown unfortunately. Well Scotty has driven the Legendary Hazen 57 plenty of times before in his racing career and Mr. Hazen put him in it last fall so Scotty could race for the season championship and track championship as he stood in 1st at that time as well. This year however, the 57 machine and Mr. Hazen and Colton are mathematically in reach of Scotty and the championship. Pretty kool circle and bond there if you ask me and their all in it together going for the title. The Legendary Paul Hazen and the 57 machine are always in the thick of things!! Hopefully the Stock Car points standings will get updated as well bc there may be some really good battles going on there as well especially in the Street Stocks. Derek Losh likely has the Mods wrapped up, guy is so good, so fast, and may even still be a good battle going on in the Hornets division. At any rate, THANK YOU GAS CITY AND PERSONNEL for updating the system and doing what you can for everyone to see updates. Hopefully you had a good turn out for The Night Of Destruction last night. Hopefully September 2nd will be a packed house and be some good fast quality racing knowing Championships are on the line!! |
