Millions of tax dollars spent to build it, and millions spent to destroy it.

I am going to miss the place. My Dad worked on it when it was built. He did all the big plaster columns that were at the entryways and in 1998 I was in charge of the expansion and worked on the giant stairwell and elevator shafts that were on the south side. I have been all over that site even in the underground cafeteria they had for dome employees. watched the supercross with my son, colts games with my wife, and midget races with friends. Lucas stadium will have some tough shoes to fill.

My favorite memory of the dome...

The 2006 AFC Championship Game. What made it better for me was that I was working for CBS Sports and was inside the ring they had setup to only allow certain people inside. I was within 3 feet of Dungy and all them on stage. My second favorite memory was when I worked the Colts/Pats game the next year. I was put on micrphone duty. When Joeseph Addai ran the 40 some yard TD run in, I was on National TV.

Long shot

Up close.

I will put up some bigger pics later.

I've got two memories from the old dome.

The first being that my first indoor race I ever attended was the 1995 Thunder in the Dome! If I remember correctly Stevie Reeves won.

My second memory is when I got to march on the astro turf for marching band state finals back in 2001. It was a pretty cool experience walking through the tunnel onto the same field that the Colts played on!
