LARSON HEADS TO KOKOMO FINALE WITH IMW POINT LEAD IN HAND

Speedway, Indiana (June 20, 2020)………Kyle Larson’s fourth USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget win in the past five nights elevated his Indiana Midget Week point lead to 57 with one race remaining, Sunday at Kokomo Speedway.

Larson captured the victory Saturday night at Lawrenceburg Speedway and upped his lead in the standings as he seeks a first career Indiana Midget Week championship.

With a maximum of 84 points available Sunday at Kokomo, in simple terms, all Larson would have to do is transfer through his heat race, and even a last place finish in the feature would clinch him the title.

Larson, Buddy Kofoid and Chris Windom remain the only three drivers mathematically eligible to claim the 2020 Indiana Midget Week title.* Kofoid (Penngrove, Calif.), a second-place finisher at Lawrenceburg, is second (-57) ahead of Friday’s Lincoln Park Speedway winner Chris Windom (-65) in third.

Sunday at Kokomo for the sixth and final round of IMW, the pits open at 3pm Eastern, grandstands at 5pm and hot laps at 6pm.
