My memory is a little fuzzy but I recall midgets at Paragon sometime in the eighties on (iirc) Easter Sunday. I'm not sure it was USAC but I think it was. As I recall it was a day show that ended up being a night race. The track was dry and dusty and spins and crashes were so frequent that the show ran way past the normal time. After the sun went down the moisture came up and the feature ran green to checker, no yellows. Unfortunately I have no recollection of who won.
