According to Indianapolis news station WISHTV the Indy 500 has been postponed to August 23rd.
Carb Day August 21st & Legends Day August 22nd.
NASCAR / IndyCar Double header - The GMR Grand Prix moved to July 4th. https://www.wishtv.com/news/indy-500-moved-to-august-23
Anyone have any information as to whether the Terre Haute double header and the Little 500 will be moved to August in conjunction with the 500?
Springfield Silver Crown is to be August 22nd. If Terre Haute Silver Crown race is rescheduled to the the Thursday before the 500 and the Silver Crown race at ORP is rescheduled for the Friday before the 500 where does that leave Springfield? We already have tickets ordered for Springfield and we have our 500 tickets
Is there any word on the Little 500. We also have tickets for the Little 500 and it's the same day as the Bettenhausen Memorial! No way to do both races on the same day!
Silver Crown Championship Dirt Cars properly driven on a one mile dirt track are classic poetry in motion. Using that analogy, Jack Hewitt is one of the greatest poets of all time.
Good luck on that...I'd like to be wrong, but I think there is a better chance of Jimmie Johnson running all 4 than Tony...Jimmie has expressed interest in racing an Indycar (Tony does not anymore, sadly) and can fit in one. Jimmie has also talked of racing midgets recently (ChiliBowl is on his "bucket list", I have heard...)
If some of the Indycar $ runs out (this deal could change MANY programs: From Bourdais, Nasr, even Penske's McLaughlin - you gotta wonder now), it MAY be "easier" for an established NASCAR champion to raise some bucks and (most likely) sell some tickets to run the IndyGP...time will tell us MUCH...too bad 2020 was looking to be a great year in racing...let's hope what is left still is!
Either way, this should make the IndyGP more relevant and expose it to many that proly never even paid attn that it existed...(this will be year 7) & it should continue to grow the BC39 - regardless if Tony or any other name like that run it.
Jimmie Johnson told NBC Sports’ Leigh Diffey in a Friday interview that he will take a "very hard look" at racing in the IndyCar GMR Grand Prix on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course July 4. As part of IndyCar’s revamped schedule, the race was moved from May 9 and will take place directly before the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

(I'll believe it when I see it...but it would be cool...I'd think 2021 would be more realistic - hopefully just in regards to him running an IndyCar...I'm optimistic national racing will resume by June...)
i’m curious to see if this will impact the weekday crowd for Smackdown. My gut says there will be a heavy contingency of international fans seeing their first Smackdown in person.
