HARF DoY

I’d been a HARF member for quite a few years, I should know this. But I don’t, so I’ll just ask.
What all goes into deciding the DoY? And who decides? Is it all up to Bob, is there a vote amongst the higher archy? What exactly do they look for, or at? I’m simply just asking. I don’t want negativity or berating of anyone. As there is another racing forum, well known for that. Please keep it positive, thank you in advance for your responses. |

The elected officers vote for all of the HARF awards except the Hall of Fame which is voted on by anyone who returns the ballot that is sent to all members

HARF DoY is voted on by the Board of Directors of HARF. These are elected officers voted on by club members. They have an annual ******** in the Spring, usually at a local race shop for a tour as well. All positions are open for HARF members if they would like to run for ********.

Is it possible that a mistake was made when a particular driver wasn't listed as DoY?

Do they ever announce who the top 3-5 candidates are prior to announcing winner?

I guess I am missing your point Dan. Do you mean did they give it to a person who wasnt voted the award? I dont remember anything like that happening. Or do you mean did they wish later that they had named someone else? Im sure there have been times that some officers had wished someone else had won but they were outvoted. Not really sure what you are driving at.

Well obviously the top runners in my opinion are Cummins and T-Mez. I’d also put Courtney and Grant in the running with honorable mention going to Shane Cockrum. Hard to overlook Brad Sweet with 16 outlaw wins so far, and Aaron Reutzel has had a hell of a year too. Glad I don’t have to make the decision.
