I don't know if you folks in the Midwest have been exposed to the Smart Car or not. We have a couple of them in our town. Just in case, here's a pic or two.
http://www.smartusa.com/ Now, of course, we don't expect racers to ride around in something that square, so this guy has some better ideas. http://mybroadband.co.za/photos/show...php/photo/6547 Start with that pic and go forward in his thumbnail list. Dick. |

Thanks for that clarification. Didn't the Geo Prizm have one fifteen years ago? I know several who got over 200,000 with those.

My half brother had one. Don't htink it made it to 200k though. My co workers Geo Metro gets about 7,000 miles a year while his bike gets about 10,000(pedal bike). (might be a little off, but the bike gets more mileage thant he car).

I've seen a few here in Indy. Wouldn't catch me in one on the interstate. Semi hits you, and you wouldn't even be a speed bump.

I have seen crash test videos of these cars going form 70mph to 0 hitting a concrete barrair. While you wouldn't walk away, they concluded that you have a pretty good chance of living. These cars are much safer than they appear.

i drove the diesel version that i believe was turboed which wont clear US emissions while i was in germany, it was a neat little car to drive ran 70 just fine, crazy cheap on gas but just two seats. Im pretty sure they are making a 4 door version now.
id drive one just to save money to go racing!!!!!! |

1978 hydrogen caprice classic in 1978
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjfONpsFvyM The problem as I understand it is still producing enough hydrogen. It's best done with nuke reactors. Solar still takes a whole block of solar cells to produce enough for one car for one fill up in one week
