This Fri Oct 4th and Sat Oct 5th, the 1st Annual POWRi Lightning Sprint Nationals will be held at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, MO. Each nite is a separate nite of racing. The 1st and 2nd place finishers in the A main Fri nite will be guaranteed a starting spot at the back of the A Main on Sat nite, if you do not qualify on Satr for the A feature. You do not have to race on Fri nite to race on Sat nite. The 2 day show has a $ 14,000+ purse. $ 300 to win on Fri nite and $ 75 to start the A. Sat Nite is $ 1500 to win and $ 250 to start the A. Both nites also have money for running the B's, if you don't qualify for the A. No Entry fee, no pill draw fee. Pill draw for heat race lineups. Passing points will be used. Pit Gates open at 3 pm with drivers meeting at 6:15 and racing at 7:15. Go to the Midwest Lightning Sprint face book page for entry form. So far, we have 35 cars preregistered from 10 different states and Canada. POWRi Lightning Sprint rules will apply.

Pre Entries are now over 40. I know of 6 more that have not pre entered and have said they are definitely coming.
NOTE: If you have a midget, lightning sprint or micro tail tank then it has to have a bladder. If you have a metal tank it also has to have a bladder. The Jaz type fuel cells are allowed with a tail cover over them. |

We had a total of 43 cars that signed in on Fri evening at Lake Ozark Speedway for the POWRi Lightning Sprint Nationals. 11 different states and Canada made up the field of cars.
Sat night Finals top ten 1st Brad Strunk OH 2nd Grant Sexton CA 3rd Eric Sunborg Quebec Canada 4th Chris Crowder CO 5th Tomy Moreau Quebec Canada 6th Pressley Truedson MN 7th Josiah King CO 8th Dean Parker IN 9th Alan Truscinski MN 10th Joel Mellon CO For complete results go to the Lake Ozark Speedway web site. The 2 day purse was in excess of $ 14,000. The POWRi Officials did a tremendous job. They were assisted by the Midwest Lightning Sprint officials. Dave Boos from the RMLSA did the tech. From all indications from the track owner, Tim Trimble, we will do this again in 2020. The race will be moved up in the calendar some because of the threat of bad weather in Oct. Thank you to everyone for making this 1st POWRi Lighting Sprint Nationals a success. |
