What would it take to get some form of open wheel midgets back to the speedrome?

Midgets (either Usac or private), TQ's, Mini's, Kenyons etc.

I run a TQ in the UMRA , and love running pavement races. I have said something to our pres. of our club about running there again cause I would like to run that track and I think there are some other guys that would like to also, But like Jim was saying in the post above it has something to do with cost and i think insurance of why we arent running there. But I will keep plugging for it too, Maybe there promotor will read this and do something about it. I know we ran there in the past and put on some great shows. So hopefully someday we can go back. From my understanding the biggest issue with getting the midgets back at Speedrome is the track owner and the amount of money he want to lease the track for a night of racing. The other issue you have is the track makes it's money off of there weekend stockcar programs so your not going to get a good Fri or Sat date, your stuck running a Wed or Thurs. show. From being around the Regional deal the thing that hurts is mid week shows. no fans in the seats. I would love to see midgets back at Speedrome as I think alot of others would. TQ's with the regoinal midget show at Speedrome would be great so along with your promoter let the track owner know you want to see open wheel racing back at Speedrome.

Could not have said it any better myself, besides, the place is a dump, The owner makes so much off of the weekend Junker program that does not require a decent racing surface and therefor has not put a dime in the place in years.
