USAC SpeeD2 Midget races 8/16 & 8/17

Two of Indiana’s premier bullrings are hosting special races limited to SpeeD2 midgets only. Organized by the USAC SpeeD2 Midwest Thunder Midget Series (MTM), Night One will be held on August 16th at Gas City Speedway, and Night Two at Montpelier Motor Speedway on Saturday August 17th. Located just 20 minutes apart in northeast Indiana, the two tracks provide an opportunity for plenty of midget racing action for your gas money!

The USAC SpeeD2 MTM series has consistently drawn competitor counts of 20 cars in 2019 at its SpeeD2 races at Gas City, and 12-18 cars as a part of open midget races at Montpelier and Bloomington Speedways. In addition to its Indiana and Ohio based regulars, the series has received interested from SpeeD2 racers from Illinois, Michigan, New York and Georgia. All production-based automotive and motorcycle-powered midgets meeting USAC SpeeD2 MTM rules (http://www.midwestthundermidgets.com/rules/) are eligible to participate. Additional Details:

Payout: $500, 275, 200, 150, 145, 135, 125, 115, 110, 105, 100 (11-20). Bonuses for Hard Charger, Hard Luck, others TBA. USAC/Hoosier tire raffle for competitors attending both nights.

Rules: MTM is a USAC SpeeD2 organization requiring stock internal components (see link above). Badger or ‘National-style’ aftermarket internals engines not permitted. Chevy Ecotec, Honda, Ford Focus, mini sprint motors meeting rules are permitted. Auto powered midgets must weigh 1100 lbs, motorcycle powered must weigh 950 lbs.
