Bob Cassaday, who served for 18 years as USAC’s Office Manager and as a Vice-President and Director of Administration and USAC’s Assistant Secretary, has passed away in Speedway, Ind. at the age of 91. Employed for many years by Firestone Tire and for nine years as manager of its Indianapolis-based racing division, Bob joined USAC in 1978 and as the Chief Steward for the Indianapolis 500 was one of four Steward’s who annually administered the race.

A former policeman in the city of Speedway, he also served as its commissioner. He also served on USAC’s Safety and Administrative Rules Committees.
