Engler Machine and Tool on board as title sponsor for new 410 wing series
HAUBSTADT, Ind. - Heartland Auto Racing Tour is excited to announce plans for the HART Sprint Car Series, with hopes to travel the famed tracks of Indiana during its inaugural season, in 2019.
The new winged 410 sprint car series will focus on tracks in Indiana, with possible stops in Southern Illinois and Northern Kentucky.
With its first season to come, the HART Sprint Car Series is excited to have Engler Machine and Tool, of Princeton, Ind., on board as the inaugural title sponsor.
“Engler Machine and Tool is perhaps the most respected mechanical fuel injection manufacturer in the world,” Dewain Hulett, promoter for the HART series, said. “We are honored to have such a respected company put their support behind our series the first year.
“Tim Engler is truly one of the best people I have ever met, period, let alone in the racing industry,” he added. “Having his support means a great deal to HART, both with the Sprint Car Series and the Non-Wing Micro Series.”
The Engler HART Sprint Car Series currently has its first night scheduled at Tri-State Speedway, Haubstadt, Ind., in a co-sanctioned event with the Built Ford Tough MOWA Sprint Car Series delivered by Morrow Brothers Ford.
HART continues to work with numerous tracks to sell the series and find open dates.
“While we understand the business of running a racetrack is not an easy one in this day and age, we feel the HART Sprint Car Series offers something the fans of sprint car racing in Indiana will enjoy,” Hulett said. “The drivers we have spoke to are excited about the opportunity to put the wing on for 10-15 shows a year.
“With that being said, it will be very important for our series to promote itself and the tracks at which we are scheduled,” Hulett added. “In order for us to be successful we will need support from not only drivers, but fans as well.
“While our website is still under construction, we will be pushing our Facebook page tremendously in the coming weeks.”
The purpose of the HART Sprint Car Series is to give an added avenue for fans and drivers alike, according to Hulett.
“Our goal is not to replace any of the outstanding series that are already touring the midwest, and especially Indiana,” Hulett said. “I have been involved with MOWA since its first race, we will not schedule against them and hope to work WITH them whenever possible.
“Also, we will obviously share a lot of cars with MSCS,” Hulett added. “Our goal is to give the regular competitors of that series another place to race, and definitely not make them choose.
“The ownership of the MSCS series has been helpful and supportive of this venture, we will not schedule against their series, but will run WITH them on at least one occasion next year.”
Scheduling will be the key to 2019 for the HART Sprint Car Series.
“As you can see, scheduling willing be challenging, but we will work closely with ownership from interested tracks to make sure we can produce successful events,” Hulett said. “The future success of this series means each event has to be successful, and that burden lies as much on my shoulders - as the series promoter - as it does on the individual racetracks at which we are scheduled.”
Besides Engler Machine and Tool coming onboard as the title sponsor for 2019, the HART Sprint Car Series is happy to have a handful of other sponsors already taking part in the inaugural season. PuremaX Racing Oil and Alpha1 Graphics are ready for the upcoming season as contingency sponsors. Aslo, Hoosier Tire will be the official tire of the HART Sprint Car Series, and will be a large help with the 2019 points fund.
More information will be released prior to PRI this week, about the series format and rules for the 2019 season. For updates, follow us on Facebook at HART - Heartland Auto Racing Tour ( https://www.facebook.com/HeartlandAutoRacingTour ) or email us at heartlandautoracingtour@gmail.com.
