http://usacracing.com/news/sprint-ca...-license-title ![]() SUPER SEASON NETS SUNSHINE SUPER LICENSE TITLE Speedway, Indiana (November 28, 2018)………You can add another feather to the cap of Tyler Courtney’s memorable year after accumulating the most points in USAC’s three national divisions throughout the season to claim the Mike Curb Super License for 2018 and a $5000 prize. Courtney, who wrapped up the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car title earlier this month, earned a total of 3809 points across USAC’s Silver Crown, National Sprint and National Midget divisions.* Justin Grant was second with 3694 points, while Kevin Thomas, Jr. (3662), Brady Bacon (3389) and Chris Windom (3223) rounded out the top-five. Courtney, of Indianapolis, Ind., led all drivers with a season-high 13 feature wins in USAC national competition in 2018.* His 11 National Sprint Car victories came at nine different racetracks with two wins apiece at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Fla. and Indiana’s Terre Haute Action Track as well as single wins at Indiana’s Lincoln Park Speedway, Lawrenceburg Speedway, Kokomo Speedway, Iowa’s Knoxville Raceway, Tri-City Speedway in Illinois, Ohio’s Eldora Speedway and his final win coming at Arizona Speedway.* In the process, he became just the tenth driver to win a double-digit number of USAC National Sprint Car races in a single season. In the P1 Insurance National Midgets, he recorded two victories, at Kokomo and at Eldora, finishing fourth in series points.* In Silver Crown, he was 19th in the standings, winning the pole and finishing third at Terre Haute.* He finished third again in the “Hoosier Hundred” at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Courtney is one of the many champions who’ll be honored at the 63rd Annual USAC "Night of Champions" at the Indiana Roof Ballroom in downtown Indianapolis on Friday night, December 7, 2018, located atop the Indiana Repertory Theater at 140 W.
