During the day you can wonder around the pits at no cost,at a certain time they kick everyone out of the pits and you can only re enter the pits if you have a pit pass.

Last year was the first I had actualy tickets, but I was able to pay another $40 (I think) and trade my tickets in for a wristband that got me into my seats and pits all 4 nights. I know with just grandstand seats, you don't get into the pits after 2:00 when they kick everyone out.

I'm bumping this up to the top, hoping someone might know. Last year, if you had seat, you could pay an additional price ($10 per night I think) for pit passes. Are they offering that agin this year?

I'm sure they will, it's an easy money maker, and they've done that for many years now.

You can buy a pit pass when you get there. Either a week pass or per night. I'm thinking it was $140 last year for 4 nights.

I believe the straight pit pass, with no reserved seat, will be around $210 this year. If you have reserved tickets you could get a pit pass for all 5 days last year for an additional $75 although I expect that to be higher this year.
