Listen to the Speed Report about modifieds, Need TV, Purse is the same for years, teams can't afford to travel.. Sounds like something I've heard with other series???

Interesting bit. I noticed no discussion of the modified rules being changed to reduce costs. Not one of the teams interviewed talked about tires, engines etc.

I grew up in Massachusetts as a kid. Saw mods every weekend. Don MacTavish,Pete Hamilton, Fred DeSarro, and the like. The good ole days.

There have been a lot of things done to try to lower costs. Trouble is they aren't like out here, where there is a track an hour a way from anyone. It can be a REAL long haul just to race a weekly show.

Their problems are like ours. Check out purses in the last 20 years, no change, while prices have increased for everything else. I know a lot of teams don't expect to get rich, but even would be nice. Look at the Foxes if you need an example.

We'll have to watch the economy now, because things could get really bad next year.
