K.T., Jr. won the sprints. After him it was R.J. Johnson, Matt Westfall, and Joe Stornetta, Jr. Although I might have Matt and Joe backwards. Stornetta led early on but after the first caution, K.T. Jr., put a slide job on him in Turn 2 on the restart and never let go of the lead from there.
Dave Darland was in the Hery 40 but had engine probs in hot laps/quals and never ran. 21 sprints timed in. Parker Fredrickson took a wild flip in Turn 2 in his heat, getting lots of air. He was all right, though.
I had a great time! Lil 5, Kokomo BC Twin & Lawrenceburg WoO were good, but midgets on a bullring were what I came for. It occurred to me during heats, that at this little country track, the BEST in the world were competing in every heat. After initial shock, even dodging dirt clods in last turn 4 bleachers was fun, laughing my ass off (must have been the beautiful full moon?)
Weather makes it look like this might be the end of my visit to Indiana, tonite looks bad, commitments back East (plus forecast) make Putnamville impractical. Had a great time, met some new friends, will be back. Thanks to Brent & Asha for their hospitality!
Off to swim some laps at Kokomo Y & then have to finalize plans...
Thanks Hoosiers!
