Is this the first win for one of the Gene Nolen V-6 spring cars in the Little 500? I can't remember if Swanson was driving the V-6 when he won a couple of years ago. Has one of these cars ever won before? I only remember Hollingsworth and Elliott driving them. Who else has driven them.
I think I had heard that these cars have been around more than 20 years. |

Swanson was driving for Hoffman Racing 69 two years ago and it was a V8.
Kody did drive the Nolen V8 last year and was absolutely dominant mid race until the eventual wnner and him got together spinning him. It could very well be 3 in a row for Swanson. As far as I remember, I think the announcer said it was Nolen's first win.

I think Bob Frey won 4 Little 500's in the Nolen V6.

It was posted that this was the team owners first win and that the drivers hope he doesn't retire now 😂😂. With the line up he has I doubt he'd ever retire!

I would have though Bentley Warren would have given Nolen his first 2 victories, but looking back through the records those were Niebel victories. Very glad to see the V6 return to victory lane! Probably the most asked question at the race each year, "What's wrong with that car?"

Just to clear things up! None of Gene's current motors were ever Glen's. Two of them were built originally by Gaerte and the third by Bill Tranter who has been with Gene for 30 years. Bill has tweaked all of these motors over the years to make them run like they do today! Bill worked for Glen part time before he started helping Gene.
