i know 'dega is a huge joint, but there looks like there are a TON of empty seats today. do you guys think that the brain washing is slowly loosing its hold? it seems more and more that the races that were normally packed are now looking more like ghost towns. even the bristol races are loosing some of their appeal. you used to never hear of tickets availible, but even on this board for the past few years folks have been hawking off their tix.........

Went over to dad's earlier to say hello...

When the door shut behind me, he woke up from his nap.

I looked at the TV and put two-and-two together. :rolling

I think alot of people are storing there nutts and not spending money on anything they dont have too!! There is no way any sporting event can have as many fans in the stands as they did say 3 yrs ago!!!
I just read that the ******** is pretty much over and guess who the winner is??? I am sure he will CHANGE all of the problems with racing and put more people in the stands!!!

'Daga tickets were always easy to come by-half price. The Brickyard was pleasant this year. We could actually stretch out over a couple of seats.

As times get really rough and gas prices the way they are, you're going to see more attrition. The base of the Christmas tree is going to look bleak also. Sorry.

So, who else thinks NASCAR would of gave JR the win if he was the one passing Stewart below the yellow line......

They did a few years ago. He did the same to Kenseth on the backstretch. NASCAR can't have a riot on their hands. They've kind of become like the WWE and a circus. Fortunatley they make Jimmy Spencer wear clothes instead of tights.

He is one of the reasons also for the empty seats. He joined a team containing one they love to hate, Jeff Gordon. The Alabama folks are totally confused on that move. Thus they go fishing now on 'daga day.:wink

im just going to go out on a limb here and say that people are tired of spending their hard earned money on an inferior product! maybe they are tired of watching snoozers of races and they are back at the short track now.........would be interesting to see what the attendence is like at the local tracks down south........i would bet hard earned money that the crowds are up

I think there are a few reasons for all the empty seats. Number 1 the economy is horrible. 2 the cost to attend those events is horrible, from tickets to motel rooms. 3 Gas prices, I know I am wrong to think Exxon/Mobil don't deserve another $4 billion tax break. 4 The racing is for the most part terrible. 5 The places have too many seats to begin with.

Sorry, but you are wrong. Pay out that hard earned money.

Reporting from down South, the local short tracks are suffering and crowds are down. Will probably be several tracks that don't open in 2009.

But, people have bigger things to worry about. My town had zero gas for sale most of last week. Fans are reluctant to drive very far out of town for fear of not finding gas (or, if they find it, having to pay too much).

If you follow any of the racing message boards, you'd know that the Atlanta/North Georgia/Eastern Alabama it has been even tougher to get gas.

USCS sprint car race was cancelled at Carolina Speedway last Friday due to lack of gas available in the Charlotte area.

In my opinion, Regan Smith got robbed today by typical NASCRAP bull####. And yes, they did let Earnhardt Jr. do the same thing a few years ago on the last lap going thru turns 3/4.
