While I am thrilled to see USAC come back to Wisconsin I would have hoped it would have been on the eastside of the state. Indy to Superior is 646 miles or almost 11 hour tow. Then a 4 hour tow from Superior to Deer Creek and a 3.5 hour tow to Sun Prairie from Deer Creek. So Indy and back to Indy to hit all 3 tracks is 1,456 miles. Sure hope they come up with some tow money to get guys to go. The UMSS has a nonwinged division on the WI/MN boarder but there are non of those guys who are USAC caliber when it comes to equipment but that could be the key to filling the field. Hopefully the UMSS doesn't schedule against USAC.
Once again in 2014 we Illini don't get a USAC sprint car race. I shouldn't be surprised since the mud taxi's have a stranglehold on racing activities over here in The Land O' Lincoln and crooked politicians. But, it's still a bit depressing to think that USAC and not one track promoter in Illiniland can get together and try to make a buck or two hosting a USAC wingless sprint car race.
Oh well, it serves for us to treasure our Silver Crown and Midget dates along with the Terre Haute shows that much more.
Silver Crown Championship Dirt Cars properly driven on a one mile dirt track are classic poetry in motion. Using that analogy, Jack Hewitt is one of the greatest poets of all time.
It's nice to see a couple of dates fairly close to home: Eagle (4 hours) and McCool Junction (3 hours). Thank you, USAC; That weekend will be a nice precursor to my 3rd "annual" trip to the Hoosier Hundred, big and Little 500s, and hopefully USAC sprints at THAT, provided they're not rained out again.
17 races are more than 6 hours from Indy. Gonna be expensive for those guys who only run for half a WoO purse. So they got rid of osky because its too far yet replace it with a race in Minnesota?
