For the budget minded Midget Racer that wants to race a little more, longtime Midget racer Kurt Mayhew is proud announce the formation of Kurt Mayhew‘s Midget Lites!

The K.M.M.L. is excited to run their first races as Co-Sanction events with the USAC Midwest Honda Ignite Dirt Midget Series.

Kurt explains, “we have already been running a successful, restricted series here in Illinois, and the competition is fantastic! Now, joining up with the USAC Honda Ignite series, fans will be able to see some fabulous competition from more racers in the region, and hopefully drag a few cars out of the garage.”

Kurt went on to explain that using the current formula of restrictions for our Ecotec Engines, as well as other engines, versus the current stock Ford Focus engine, not only makes sense, but makes for great racing!

The K.M.M.L. will use the same weight/engine rules, as used by the Illini Racing Series. “Kurt commented that Laverne Spencer and the IRS group have done a great job in finding the level playing field that most everyone wants, we just want to expand on that to more racers! We will still be supporting the IRS series whenever we can, but also excited about racing against the USAC folks as well.”

USAC car and tire rules will apply to these special races with the exception of allowing the standard National Midget D12 on the left rear. There will be no changes for current USAC competitors.
Note: No chain drives, must be full size Midget

The first two races for this exciting union will take place Friday June 28th at Gas City Speedway, and Saturday June 29th at Plymouth Speedway.

Tentative schedule for KMML and USAC co-sanctioned events:
July 12th Gas City, IN
August 16th Gas City, IN
Sept. 27th Gas City, IN

If your looking for car count let lighting sprints run with this group. Chain drive shouldn't have anything to do with it.

This is very similar to my Division 2 midgets EXCEPT I allow chain driven "MIDGETS" (lightning sprints) which means they have to be the right size tubing and wheel base Ford Focus, Chevy Ecotech, up to 1200 cc motor cycle engine (chain driven or QC)
