Plans are underway for the 2013 season at Waynesfield Raceway Park. There will be some improvements made to the facility including a hot pit lane, new scale area and easier in/out access for the haulers. We have a handful of races scheduled so far but these should get the blood pumping. On May 25 we will host the Memorial Classic that includes the always popular NRA 360 Sprints versus the ASCS SOD's. Then on July 3rd we will host the 2nd annual Bob Reynolds Memorial race. Local businessman Ron Hammons has lined up an event like none other to honor the late Bob Reynolds. This race will include the 360 winged sprints vying for a payday of:
$7000 to win
$4000 for second
$2500 for third
$1800 for fourth
$1300 for fifth
$700 to start.
This show will also include the popular UMP Modifieds running for a top spot paying:
$2500 to win
$2000 for second,
$1500 for third
$1000 for fourth
$850 for 5th
$200 to start.
Then on June 23rd the Ohio Sprint Speedweek makes its annual stop at WRP with the Allstar Sprint Series. We will return the Jack Hewitt Classic on a date to be determined yet and the Dick Spencer Memorial race both highlighting the Buckeye Machine Fabricator Non Wing Sprints. So as you can see 2013 is shaping up to be a great season and possibly the best ever at the 10 year young facility. There will be some more schedule updates released as they become available. We hope to see you and in the mean time have a very Happy Holiday season.
Would have been nice if they would have kept the Non Wingers & bumped up there pay. I think Bob helped out some of the Mod guys too.
