This Jan. I am making my maiden voyage to Tulsa and would love to know the do's and dont's in and around the area. I'm a long time creeper but first time poster. Thanks in advance for any info.

Tulsa is pretty easy to get around in; the major streets are nicely laid out in 1 mile increments. There are plenty of hotels and restaurants within a 2 - 5 mile radius of the fairgrounds. If you're flying in, the airport is probably 6 or 7 miles from the QuikTrip Center. The pits are open to everyone until 3:00 or 3:30 every day except Saturday, so plan to spend some time gawking and meeting the drivers and crews. The trade show usually opens around 10:00 and it's always worth a look. I (or someone else) will try to respond if there's anything specific you'd like to know.

definitely Hooters for lunch. Always lots of race fans , drivers , crews etc. Town Pump bar , and of course Cloud 9 always is packed after the races. And give the Elephant Run a shot. Free shuttles from the Expo Center to the casino is a good way to spend an afternoon.
