I recently bought a new 410 chevy motor with the lightweight block. The old motor I ran had the full magnesium motor plate and was not lightweight. Can I still use this motor plate or do I need to buy a new lightweight motor plate to match up to the new lightweight block?

I wouldn't know why, unless it doesn't fit, if you already have a mag plate, it's about as light as you can get, unless you have some machining done to it. The bolt pattern hasn't changed since 1955, that I know of. Bob

Thank you Bob, well try and bolt it up and see what happens. The only reason I had questioned it is because some one told me that since my motorplate does not have any notches taken out of it, it is just a solid plate, that I would have to get a new one. I wasnt sure why I would, like you said, but I figured it could'nt hurt to ask. Again, thanks for the info!
