The off-season tradition returns, and preparations are underway for: The Indy Circle Track Expo 11, Swap Meet * Trade Show * Auction, January 29, 2011 @ the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis, IN!


THE SHOW

It's one of the biggest shows of it's kind in the entire country, and by far the biggest show in the entire Midwest!! Last year's Indy Circle Track Expo had just over 400 booth spaces (in 2 buildings), with vendors from 13 different (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, South Dakota, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Wisconsin (and oddly enough, 2 with the name Arizona, but they're not from there)! This Swap Meet and Trade Show and Auction, will bring together local racers, professional racers, racing business's (manufacturers & dealers), race tracks, and sanctioning bodies all under 1 (well 2 actually) massive roof(s)! The 67,000 Sq. ft. Champions Pavilion was sold-out (for the 9th year in a row!) last year by the first week of January! Vendor registration is open, and we have already started receiving entries, both in the mail and online!

This year's first entry, was Bob "Spanky" Shoulders, owner of Durabuilt Racecars and Dealer for Lightning Chassis!! Congrats Spanky! We'll have to buy you one of those "$17 Hot Dogs" at the Fairgrounds.. Or maybe something less expensive??!!

THE AUCTION

We now have a NEW AUCTIONEER, and they are as excited about the potential growth of this show as we are! The second building, Hall "A" of the South Pavlion (just about 40 yards out the back door of the "Champions"), will again house this event! This Auction is open to anyone who wishes to consign any racing related item, part, car, whatever! For time constraint reasons, this Auction will have a limited # of lots, so don't delay!
Racing Auction specialists, MCS Auctions will be conducting the Auction. And we do mean specialists.. Owner/Auctioneer Maria Vannice was mentored by none other than Charlie Sentman, and proudly carries over that experience to her own Auctions!! Plus, Danny Irvin has been in the auction business for 35+ years. He is an avid race fan and knows race parts as well. Danny works side by side with Maria to coordinate and implement a well organized Auction.

The "Racers Auction" is scheduled to start @ approx. 1:00. Also of note: The Auction is open to any and all who wish to consign, and for our vendors, there will be some "Last Ditch" consignment slots open for you as well!! Just in case you don't want to take something back home !!!

THE INDIANA OPEN WHEEL AWARDS
Presented By Hoosier Tire Midwest-Indy

We are very excited to announce that this year during the Indy Circle Track Expo, we will be hosting a presentation for the Indiana Open Wheel Awards!! It’s kind of a “Viewer’s Choice” award for Racers, as it is voted by Fans, and fellow Racers! Categories include: Manufacturer of the Year (oty), Media Member oty, Midget Driver oty, Mini/Micro Driver oty, Modified Driver oty, Most Improved Driver oty, Promoter oty, Rookie oty, Race Fan oty, Sprint Car Driver oty, T.Q. Midget Driver oty, Team oty, and Track oty.

D.O. and Kimb Stewart will emcee the presentations, which include a Plaque and an embroidered jacket from Hoosier Tire!! This will take place at approx. 1P.M. just before....


THE FEUD

The Beast Race Cars "Circle Track Feud" Presented by Racin' W/D.O. and H.A.R.F., returns for another attempt at Game Show Infamy! The Mechanics, vs. the Legends, vs. The Current Heroes format will once again be in play! Last year's winner, Dave Darland walked away with his first victory of the 2010 season, and promptly donated the winnings to the Vogler Scholarship Fund! Once again this year, each Celebrity Panelist will be playing for more than just bragging rights, they'll actually be playing for $400, which will then be donated to the charity of their choice!! The kings of historical knowledge on all things fast, will be returning!.. Indianapolis Motor Speedway Historian Donald Davidson and www.openwheeltimes.com Kevin Eckert will be tossing out the Questions & Points, in this battle for "mental" supremacy!! Also returning to help keep the train somewhat on the track, will be www.jackslash.com 's Sean Buckley!!
As in years past, we will be utilizing some Legends of the sport, as well as some of today's heroes! We have been fortunate to have some of the finest in the business, grace our stage over the the years, and this year will be no different!
The "Mechanics/Car Builers" Team line-up is set with Bob East , Joe Devin , and Steve "The Bopper" Stapp!
Also ready to Feud are the "Current Heroes" led by the defending "Feud" Champion, Dave Darland with help from Joey Saldana and Bryan Clauson!
"The Legends" Team will consist of Greg Staab, Joe Saldana, and Kevin Thomas!

The Indy Circle Track Expo's, Beast Race Cars "Circle Track Feud" Presented by Racin' W/D.O. and H.A.R.F will start at approx. 1:30pm.

MICRO MEETING V

If you race a Micro, you'll want to be at this meeting!
Dwayne McIntire is once again working hard to put together this year's panel, and for the fifth year in a row The Indy Circle Track Expo is proud host the Micro Sprint Roundtable. The meeting will again be upstairs meeting room B at 12pm.
Dave as gathered panelists to include: Representatives Floyd Bailey (Bailey Chassis Co.), Bakersfield Raceway(Linton, IN), Coles County Speedway (Charleston, IL), Fastrax Chassis, George Gamester (Gamester Racing Products), Miami County Speedway(Peru, IN), and reps from the new indoor race in Grand Rapids, MI! More might be added soon!


THE PARTS CHECK

Also returning will be the very popular "Beast Parts Check Room" where you will have a secure place to drop your "goodies", so that you can continue to enjoy the day without having to haul them around or take them out to your vehicle!

I'm looking forward again to the show. Thanks guys for putting this on.

Racin' with D.O. will have some new videos available at this years show. The Jack Hewitt Roast DVD set will be available along with a couple other 2010 videos.

It's always a good time to talk shop with everybody about the upcoming year and what everybody is going to do. Plus a lot of great bargains everywhere. I always look forward to the goldy oldie picture guys with photos of real racers.

By far the best show we do all year, with a ton of people attending, plus the Trivia Challenge on stage with our racing heroes from the past and present is well worth the price of admission. The Indianapolis Home Show

The wife might be interested in attending the 88th Annual Indianapolis Home Show going on in the Exposition Hall, and the West Pavilion! Show hours on Friday the 28th are 11am-9:00pm and Saturday the 29th from 10am-9:30pm. Admission is $13 at the door ($10 online), Children 6-12 are $5. Ice Skating or Gymnastics

The kids have a couple of options that include Skating or Gymnastics! The Pepsi Coliseum is open for Public Ice Skating both Friday and Saturday from 2:30-4:30pm and 7:30-9:30pm! Admission is $5 (13 & up) and $4 (12 & under) Skate rental is $3 for Figure Skates and $4 for Hockey Skates! 317-927-7536 for more info.

Were not sure if they planned it this way, but the doors to this show, open at a perfect time in relation to our show!! The 3rd Annual Microbrewers Winterfest presented by Brewers of Indiana Guild open their doors at 3pm, and then close at 7pm!!?? 50 different Breweries featuring over 150 beers will be available for your "testing" pleasure!!.. And don't forget to pick up your commemorative "Tasting" glass!! Must be 21.
